How to Charge a Scissor Lift
A lot of individuals value the convenience of using a scissor lift. The convenience of working and the security offered from the lift's basket provide a lot more piece of mind than trying to complete a similar job utilizing the step of a ladder. The safety risks involved with this specific machinery make it the best alternative for carrying jobs from heights.

The majority of scissor lifts are powered electrically by batteries that have been mounted directly onto the equipment. These batteries will have to be charged after a long shift or after sitting for extended periods without use. It is a simple job to charge the batteries. This can be done without any specialized equipment or tools and requires no heavy labor.

So as to prepare the scissor lift for charging, park the machinery next to an electrical outlet. Make sure you are doing this in a well-ventilated place. Next, in order to prevent another operator from driving away with the lift plugged in, press the emergency shut-off switch. The emergency shut off switch is the large red button situated in the lift basket, near the control box or the charger. Find the battery charger on the right side of the base of the lift. Normally, older models would have the charger mounted on the rear of the lift.

The AC extension cord should next be plugged into the charger. Be certain to charge in a well ventilated place and plug the cord into an electrical outlet. So as to prevent accidental damage from being run over, the length of the electrical cord on the battery charger is intentionally short. This is because if any excess length were to drop out of the battery charger storage place while in use, extreme danger could likely happen.
