Forklift Tire Specs
Since the year 1917, important tools utilized within commercial businesses and industry are forklifts. During its history the forklift has changed through various kinds, from a simple tractor with a platform attachment to a specialized high-tech machinery. Forklift tires have also evolved into specialized tires, with various kinds designed to suit particular applications.
Cushion (Solid) Tires
Solid polyurethane or rubber are the kinds of materials used to construct cushion tires. They are suitable for indoor work on surfaces which are smooth. The tread of a cushion tire is bonded or pressed onto the tire's steel ring. Cushion tires are rated for various load capacities and for ease of steering. Cushion tires are normally used in warehouse atmosphere.
Pneumatic Tires
Foam or air is used to fill pneumatic forklift tires. They come in two kinds: radial or bias. Depending on the application, they are offered with various sidewall protection, tread depths and weight. Pneumatic forklift tires which are filled with foam maintain constant pressures and are less prone to punctures. Pneumatic tires are normally used outdoors on uneven, rough surfaces.
Pneumatic Shaped Solid/Solid Pneumatic
The comfortable ride that pneumatic tires offer along with the puncture resistance that solid tires provide are the combined features of Solid Pneumatic Hybrid Tires. They are an alternative to the outdoor pneumatic tire.
Large Rubber and Flotation Tires
Big rubber tires, which could either be foam, solid or pneumatic, are utilized on wheel loader forklifts. These types of tires are best for loading and moving heavy items into processing machines or onto trucks. Large flotation pneumatic tires are best for masted rough terrain forklifts commonly used at lumberyards, construction sites and automobile recyclers.
