Seat Belts for Counterbalances
A type of equipment which can carry loads that are around 30,000 pounds is a forklift. A forklift is also called a counterbalance. Despite being big and sturdy, these industrial machines still carry the potential risk of accident or crash. In order to be safe, be sure to have operators put on an appropriate seat belt in the forklift and check that up to standard safety features are on board. People know that in case of an accident, seat belts could save lives.
Three-Point Seat Belt
The types of seat belts that could extend both across the upper body and over the lap are the three-point seat belts. These belts provide an added degree of safety by protecting your body. They are available in both bucket-seat and bench-seat types. The 3-point seat belts are offered in either retractable and non-retractable kinds.
The majority of modern vehicles available provide retractable seat belts. While non-retractable kinds increase safety, retractable kinds offer a lot more comfort. It is really not possible for a non-retractable seat belt to accidentally extend.
Lap belts
The type of seat belt that only extends over the lower part of the body is a two-point lap belt. The majority of lap belts are non-retractable and feature a push-button closure system. In order to secure the seat belt, just press on the belt button and the two sides would separate.
Circuit-closed seat belt
The circuit-closed seat belts are the type which force forklift operators to wear a seat belt. These types of seat belts have a micro-switch attached which enables an alarm to sound if an operator starts a vehicle and is not secured by a seat belt. The circuit-closed seat belts are made in both retractable and non-retractable lap-band kinds.
