Caterpillar Pneumatic Tire Forklifts Saskatchewan

Utilize a Pneumatic Forklift
You can usually find pneumatic forklifts in shipping and warehouse operations. Also called pump trucks or pallet trucks, they are used in order to move things and supplies around on wooden pallets using metal forks mounted on a wheeled counterweight. The counterweight contains a pump that raises the forks off the ground. A pallet truck is intended to be operated by one person.

Pallet trucks should be operated with care in order to prevent loss of control while raising heavy loads. Machine must be inspected prior to operating. Clear the wheels area of any obstructions. Make certain that the handle can smoothly turn. The pallet should be carefully stacked to guarantee that nothing would fall off during transportation.

On the end of the pallet truck's handle, squeeze the level situated on the inside of the metal loop to be able to release the air in the pump and lower the forks. The forks can then be pushed into the pallet slots. The forks must be in the middle in order to ensure even distribution of the pallet's weight across them. Raise the forks from the ground by pumping the handle of the pneumatic lift until the pallet has cleared the ground completely. Do not lift the pallet too high or the forklift can unbalance.

Move the pallet by pulling on the handle and then dragging it behind you. It is not safe to push the pallet in front of you since the momentum can cause it to go out of control. Slowly take turns and don't attempt to stop abruptly. Slowly stop, squeeze the lever, and the forks will lower to the ground. Finally, remove the forks from the pallet by pulling them out. Return the pallet truck to its permanent location.
